the heart has to change. even if the circumstances don’t change, the heart has to change.
may You work this change, O God.

frankly speaking, i’m fearful of the type of “christians” this prosperity gospel will produce..but i cannot judge them but instead be praying for them.
well, you could think all you want about how heaven will be like. i even encourage you to do so, imagine all you could, spend that effort, paint in your mind the most wonderful place you could think up. and at the end of the day, i just want to say, heaven is gonna be so much more than what we could imagine.
why am i so sure? because indeed is it not God who has made us, and knows the limits of our imaginations? and in heaven He has prepared a place for us beyond our imaginations, that in all our wildest dreams we would never have been able to think of enjoying. perhaps you could say that in His desire to see our pure delight in Him and His works, this is His pleasant surprise for us.
to dig up an old post - here is C.S. Lewis on heaven: You have never had it. All the things that have ever deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it - tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear. But if it should really become manifest - if there ever came an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself - you would know it. Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say ‘Here at last is the thing I was made for’.
and there in heaven indeed we will truly know in experience that which we were made for: to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. for there our worship will be pure, undivided, and there it will be for eternity.
ok bought a journal..so must write or else will be a waste of money (though i have indeed wasted a lot of money in the past)
was just looking at youtube videos of the earthquake..how ironic that the water we depend on for life here becomes the force that destroys.
“Come now, you who say, “today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit” - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring.” James 4:13-14
i can only agree with this. just seeing how easily the buildings which we pride ourselves so much on being able to build were swept away.
my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones, lost hope in the midst of this destruction. i can only pray they will find hope in God, that the church may truly bring His love to the suffering. only in Him can an unchanging hope be found, a hope that can never be taken away, because He is eternal and unchanging. may His Spirit grant peace and comfort to the suffering.
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27
